"Any people, anywhere, being inclined and having the power,
have the right to rise up and shake off the existing government,
and form a new one that suites them better. This is a most
valuable and most sacred right - a right which we hope and
believe is to liberate the world. Nor is this right confined
to cases in which the whole people of an existing government
may choose to exercise it. Any portion of such people, that
can may revolutionize and make their own of so many of the
territory as they inhabit.

Abraham Lincoln
January 12, 1848.

Compatriots,

We, the Members of Camp 1437, The Florida Division of the Sons of Confederate Veterans, welcome you to our website.  It is hoped that each of you visiting our site will do so by remembering the purpose of our organization.  We celebrate the Honor and the Heritage of the Veterans of the Confederate States of America.  It is our intention to honor those Veterans and their memories, not to forget or degrade them.  Our SCV Heritage is as important to our Members as is Our Country, The United States of America.  We honor the United States of America and believe in Her and our way of life.  Honor, Heritage and Freedom are rights which we value highly and are not willing to give up or have taken from us.  Please, keep in mind the principles upon which Our Great Country was established and realize that the Confederate States of America had a part in helping to make the United States of America the Country it is today.  Heritage and Honor is important to everyone.  Join us in honoring the Veterans of the Confederate States of America, as well as the Veterans of the United States of America.

C Doug Davis,  Commander of Camp 1437
